The Festive Season has always been a special time of year here, at Lake House, Daylesford.
40 years since we opened our doors, we’re delighted to welcome multi-generations and to be a favoured place for families to gather and celebrate milestones and occasions. The Festive Season is no exception. Come December, Christmas lights, decorated Christmas trees, sumptuous wreaths and twinkling candles welcome guests from near and far.
Each year the Lake House take on the traditional Christmas pudding has always been central to a long lunch or dinner over the Christmas holidays, and in recent years those who are not able to join the festivities at our iconic House on the Lake can pre-order their own puddings to enjoy at home.
But you’d better be quick to place your order, with only a limited number of puddings available – they tend to sell out quickly each year.
Made right here in Daylesford, this is a dense pudding with rich abundant fruit; raisins, sultanas, currants, orange, lemon, and grapefruit peel and segments, apples, ginger, spices, and a generous dose of dark ale, rum, sherry & Madeira.
Dress it up with dark fruits; cherries, blackberries, blueberries, and mulberries, or perhaps fresh sweet mango and citrus for an "Aussie Summer" feel? It’s your choice. We recommend an Amaro on ice to serve alongside, but you can also never go wrong with a glass of chilled Champagne.
