Iconic Lake House Hotel, Restaurant & Spa sits on the shores of Lake Daylesford, 90 minutes from Melbourne in the heart of Australia’s Spa Country.
Here you will find the largest concentration of natural mineral water springs, beautiful lakes, rivers, forests, chic village shops, cafes, bars, galleries and provedores.
Lake House is a member of the Luxury Lodges of Australia; nestled on six acres of country gardens that extend to the lake’s edge.
The property is most famous for its acclaimed restaurant, consistently rated as one of Australia’s best, holding 2 Chefs Hats from the Good Food Guide and listed amongst Gourmet Traveller’s top destination restaurants.
Culinary travellers will appreciate the seasonal a la carte menus which showcase produce sourced from Lake House’s own Dairy Flat Farm, a purpose-built growing facility which includes 40 acres of regenerative farm (vegetables, flowers and herbs), olive grove, orchard, bee hives and vineyard just down the road. Menus draw inspiration from its produce as well as some of the best farmers, producers, and makers in Australia. Lake House was listed in the top 7 Victorian Restaurants and top 5 Regional Restaurants.
Alongside the restaurant a substantial award-winning wine list (Victoria’s Wine List of the Year) of 13,000 odd bottles is housed is a beautiful cellar and provides an additional option for private dining for groups onsite, in the cellar itself.
Hotel Studios, Suites and Villas are beautifully appointed with unique custom furnishings, largely from nearby suppliers or handcrafted by local artisans. Original art hangs in every room from the Wolf-Tasker Family private collection. In room movies and wifi are all included as is a selection of minibar items including non-alcoholic beverages, beer and cider. Housekeeping service, porterage, turndown and special touches throughout your stay are just the beginning. Room service is of course popular for those wanting to sleep in, although the delicious Lake House a la carte breakfast and buffet including freshly baked sourdough and viennoiserie from the Bake House at Dairy Flat Farm is not to be missed.
Popular hotel activities include lounging by the picturesque solar heated infinity pool overlooking Lake Daylesford, a hit of tennis on the full-size court, casual basketball, a soak in the hot tub and sauna or a cocktail on one of the many waterfront terraces. There is a library full of books and games where you can also order bar snacks throughout the day, and in the cooler months a firepit by the lake shore provides a beautiful place to sit with a book and a good glass of local pinot noir. Hotel guests are invited to join an exclusive tour of the Dairy Flat Farm gardens every other day as well as the slow fermentation bake house and Dairy Flat Lodge – also operated by the Lake House Team.
The Farm inspires as much in The Spa at Lake House as it does in the Restaurant. Guests indulge in signature treatments which harness the healing powers of herbs and flowers in small batch luxurious and nourishing scrubs, balms and oils. Combined with hydrotherapy treatments which gently heat the natural mineral waters of the region for a deep soaking session designed to boost circulation and general health, therapeutic massage is also available, as are Ayervedic facials.
Concierge arranged extras and additional activities may include: private yoga and tai chi classes, hot air ballooning, golf, horse riding, sourdough baking and bee keeping classes, abundant flowers in the room on arrival, our signature cake for a special occasion, private dining in the cellar, waterfront pavilion or terrace for larger groups. There is also limo and helicopter transfers for guests arriving without a car.
Lake House is indeed a destination for travellers wanting to rest, indulge, rejuvenate, revitalise, reconnect and indeed be pampered.
