Hosted by Winemaker Vanya Cullen Grown in the ancient soils of Wilyabrup, Cullen Wine comes from the heart of the land rather than the mind of the winemaker. A pioneer of Margaret River, Cullen Wines has always produced long-lived wines of highly individual style from the mature estate vineyard. The vineyard has progressed beyond organic to biodynamic certification and, subsequently, has become the first vineyard and winery in Australia to be certified carbon positive. "Winemaking is in the hands of Vanya Cullen, daughter of founders Kevin and Diana Cullen; she is possessed with an extraordinarily good palate and generosity to the cause of fine wine. Vanya is also a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Australia and was awarded the Companion's inaugural Viticulturist of the Year in 2022, Cullen's 50th anniversary year" - James Halliday Vanya Cullen has honoured the legacy of her parents by following in their footsteps, humbly accepting the Order of Australia (OAM) for her services to viticulture and oenology in June this year. Join Vanya for a deep dive into some of Cullen’s most exquisite wines, paired with a special multi course menu from the Lake House team. Cellar Series Terms & Conditions All events are subject to availability. Cellar Series tickets are non-refundable. Hosted by Winemaker Michael Dhillon. “One of the icons,” says James Halliday. And so it is. Established in 1988 – just after Lake House first opened its doors; Bindi is now renowned as one of the best wineries in Australia serving up top-shelf Chardonnay and remarkable Pinot Noir. 50 kilometres north-west of Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges, is the family property of the Dhillon family. Originally purchased in the 1950s as part of the larger grazing farm ‘Bundaleer’, ‘Bindi’ is a 170-hectare farm of which 7 hectares are planted with largely high density vineyards, producing wines of exceptional quality. The newly released Block 8 and Darshan wines give a new meaning to premium Australian Pinot Noir. The vineyard and winemaking philosophy is to seek balance and purity in the expression of its various vineyard sites. This philosophy is applied to both farming and conservation at Bindi; the preservation of the natural harmony. Their wines are hard to come by and coveted by collectors, we are grateful and proud to have the opportunity to share them with you over the years and even more so as we enter our 40th Year at Lake House. Settle in for a sumptuous early Winter lunch from the team at Lake House in the Waterfront Pavilion, we’ll have the firepit roaring. A multi course chefs menu will be paired with wines from the Bindi portfolio. Cellar Series Terms & Conditions All events are subject to availability. Cellar Series tickets are non-refundable. Hosted by Trembath & Taylor’s Matt Paul The prominence given to Italian wine in Australia today can be traced back to Trembath & Taylor, the leading importer of Italian wine in this country. They represent nineteen of Italy’s twenty regions and have as much passion for the gioia per la vita as we do. A company that works with great integrity with a focus on quality of product and relationships, we're grateful to have their longterm friendship. Italy is one of the most dynamic wine countries in the world. The culture and diversity of grapes, terroir and cuisine, draws us in often and we enjoy their wines here at Lake House, especially as the Winter season unfolds and the suggestion of truffles beckon us to the hunt in surrounding orchards. Settle in for a sumptuous Winter lunch from the team at Lake House in the Waterfront Pavilion with exceptional views across misty lake Daylesford.
