Late Summer and the early days of Autumn have never looked so good at our oasis on lake Daylesford. Think lazy mornings with room service (one of our perfect poached fruit Danishes in bed?!) or full breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine… Days spent between the infinity pool and the day spa, perhaps a book from our library will keep you entertained on the lagoon deck with a snack at lunchtime..
An afternoon shopping in the village, country picnics in the Botanic gardens and long sunset walks around the shore or through the forest (you may stumble upon one of our favourite natural swimming holes). As the warmth of the sun fades and the starry skies emerge it’s time for dinner – and what a bounty this time of year brings. Delicate elderflower in the early days, sweet peas and stone fruit through to rich ripe and abundant berries as the months heat up, plump tomatoes (we’re planting more than 20 varieties at the moment), eggplant, peppers, zucchini and then apples, pears, plums, quince and medlar….

Children at Lake House
At Lake House, we enjoy watching multi-generations of guests come together over a meal or a weekend away. After 30 years, we are seeing the next generation come and stay with their own children. We do accommodate our younger clientele as much as possible by offering nanny services, kids welcome packs & activities such as feeding the ducks, geese and kookaburras. However, Lake House is situated on an unfenced lake amongst 6 acres of rambling country gardens. We ask all guests travelling with children to be mindful of our geography whilst enjoying your time at Lake House.
In the Lake House restaurant, we try to accommodate children where possible. Special menus are designed for our younger clientele in mind should they not wish to try the a la carte menus. Families, please note that premium evening sittings in the restaurant over weekends are fixed price of $225 per person. If you are travelling with children, there are several options if you wish to avoid this per person price for young ones. Children’s Menus are offered at lunch or in the evening delivered to the comfort of your room. Babysitters can, of course, be arranged with notice.
Parking at Lake House
We offer free car parking in our public car park. Vehicles are left at guests’ own risk, Lake House is unable to take responsibility for any damages incurred to vehicles parked on-site or in adjacent car parks.
