Days begin with glorious white frosts and mist that lingers on the lake long after sunrise. Our country style eggs & accompaniments and strong coffee are served in the restaurant, or perhaps you care for breakfast in bed? Who can pass up those pastries from our Dairy Flat Farm Bake House.
Winter activities include books and games in the Library, marshmallows and cocktails around the firepit, an invigorating walk around the lake or hit of tennis followed by a good soak and sauna. Spa treatments are deeply therapeutic and nourishing in the cooler months.
The sun sets early but that just means champagne by the fire before dinner is a must; and watch out for those winter brassicas from our Farm on the menu at dinner. For those who like a little retail therapy, our favourite local shops and galleries are well worth a look, and just a short stroll away…

Or perhaps you’ll prefer our Woodland Bliss Ritual, this luxurious treatment will conjure images of wild woodlands and fragrant country gardens. Combining soothing rhythmic strokes using hot volcanic stones and warm oil to reduce tension and ease muscle aches, an oil infused polish is applied to achieve deep exfoliation and maximum hydration using traditional combinations of rosemary, pine and passionflower.
