Lake House began operating in 1984. Hand built by artist and builder, the late Allan Wolf-Tasker and his chef and dreamer wife, Alla Wolf-Tasker AM, it was simple in its original mission. A 40-seat weekend only restaurant that might emulate Alla’s experiences of top end French regional hospitality in the 70’s. Fine cooking, local produce, seasonality, great service. A restaurant worthy of a journey in itself, not just a detour. 40 years on, whilst Lake House certainly looks much different to what it was in those early years, our guests continue to remark on the connection and inspiration they feel here. Their attention to design details results in gardening tools of strength and durability, to make gardening easier for everyone. The stainless steel of this bypass secateur has been drop forged, a manufacturing process which removes any voids and aligns the grain of the metal for a tool of outstanding strength and enduring sharpness. The all-steel construction also adds strength, as the single-piece steel of the blades extends the whole length of the handles. The stainless steel is rust resistant, making the blades easy to keep clean and minimising corrosion. The bypass action is ideal for making the precise, clean cuts which are better for plant health. Solid brass rivets fasten the stylish FSC® hardwood handles, for a touch of classic style.

This distinctive high-carbon steel garden fork gives a nod to the style and quality of the garden tools of yesteryear. It has been made using traditional manufacturing techniques, with an attention to design detail which delivers a digging fork of strength and durability, to make gardening easier for everyone. This garden fork has been tested to a breaking strain of 100kg, far more than the British standard of 55kg. The high-carbon steel tines and socket are solid forged from a single piece of metal for optimal strength, with a textured powder coating in an unusual antique bronze shade for protection from corrosion. The fork features a robust D-handle in high-carbon steel for maximum life, and the joints at socket and D-handle are double-riveted for a secure connection. The FSC® ash shaft and grip give enduring comfort, and the shaft bears a brass plaque as a hallmark of the reassurance of these two trusted names in gardening.
